Frequently Asked Questions What if a death occurs out of state? Grose Funeral Home will handle the arrangements for a death that occurs virtually anywhere in the world. Should such a situation occur, contacting the funeral home is the only call you need to make at that time. Is it necessary to be embalmed? Embalming is not always necessary. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require it, such as, direct cremation or immediate burial. Is it possible to have a traditional funeral service and then be cremated? Yes. Cremation does not preclude one from having a viewing and funeral service. In such a case, one may elect to use a “rental casket” for the viewing and ceremony followed by cremation.
