Herbert A. Bare
Herbert A. Bare, 86, of Richland, Pa. died Monday, June 22, 2009 in Jefferson Township, Berks County, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was the husband of Arlene K. (Moyer) Bare to whom he was married 62 years on December 21.
Born in Bernville, Pa. on March 26, 1923, he was the son of the late Herbert F. and Edna E. (Wolf) Bare.
He had been employed at Quaker Alloy Casting Co., Myerstown, Pa., for 27 years retiring in 1986. He also worked on numerous farms in the Berks County area for many years.
He was a member of St. John's " Host " Church, Bernville, Pa.; a life member of the Marion Grange, Mt. Zion Fire Co., Rehrersburg Fire Co. and AAA and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Sallie wife of Warren Leask of Wiscasset, Maine and Susan wife of Larry Rittle, Sr. of Myerstown, Pa.; sons Ralph husband of Anita Bare of Jonestown, Pa. and Charles husband of Eileen Kauffman of Bethel, Pa.; 8 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Michael Kauffman, brothers William and Lee Elmer Bare and a sister Helen Raber.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11 am. from St. John's " Host " Church, Bernville, Pa. Viewing Friday from 6 pm. - 8 pm. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, Pa. and Saturday at 10 am. at the church. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's "Host" Church, 36 Host Church Road, Bernville, Pa. 19506.
