Kenneth L. Donkel, 76, of Bethel, Pa. died Saturday, January 30, 2010 as the result of an accident on Rte. 419 in Tulpehocken Township, Berks County.
He was the husband of the late Irene M. (Edris) Donkel who died June 21, 2003.
Born in Bethel Twp., Lebanon County, Pa. on December 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Harry G. and Elsie A. (Spitler) Donkel.
He had been a self-employed farmer in Bethel, Pa. for 20 years while driving school bus for the Tulpehocken School District for 10 years. He retired in 1995 from Penn Dye, Pine Grove.
He attended Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, Bethel, Pa. and enjoyed card parties, gospel music, CB radios and eating out.
He is survived by daughters Linda wife of Wilmer Dreibelbis, Jr. of Lawrenceville, Pa. and Sandra wife of Eric Dreibelbis of Bernville, Pa.; sons Terry Donkel of Bethel, Pa., Jeffrey husband of Donna Donkel of Bethel, Pa. and Robert Donkel of Bethel, Pa.; 9 grandsons and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 2 p.m.. from Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, 31 Rehrersburg Rd., Bethel, Pa. Family will receive friends Wednesday from
1 p.m.. until time of service. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assn., 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg, Pa. 17110. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown is entrusted with the arrangements.
