Rhea C. Braun
Rhea C. Braun, 76, of Myerstown, Pa., died Monday, June 29, 2009 at her residence.
She was the widow of Barney S. Braun who died August 23, 2000.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on September 9, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Lavada E. (Bickel) Funk.
A 1950 graduate of Hustontown High School, she received her registered nurse degree from the Albert Einstein Medical Center Nursing School, Philadelphia in 1953.
She had been in nursing since 1950 in the Philadelphia, Lancaster and Lebanon areas and had been a registered nurse for Hospice of Lancaster, Lancaster, Pa., for 14 years retiring in 1994.
She was a member of the Myerstown Church of The Brethren where she was involved with the quilting at the church. She was an alumni of the Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia and enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and being with her family.
She is survived by a daughter Dr. Tracy Williamson of Crofton, Maryland; sons Norman husband of Michele Williamson of Allentown, Pa. and David husband of Juli Williamson of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; 6 grandchildren; sister Barbara Souders of Sanford, North Carolina; brother Dr. Fred Funk of Roseberg, Oregon and several nieces & nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 3, 2009 at 11 am. from Myerstown Church of the Brethren, 51 W. Stoever Ave., Myerstown, Pa.
