George S. "Chub" Troutman, Jr., 75, of Marion Twp., Berks County, died Friday, February 10, 2012 at his residence. He was the husband of Marie R. (Zechman) Troutman to whom he would have been married 8 years on April 24. His first wife was the late Mary E. Rittle Troutman who died February 25, 2002. Born in Marion Twp., PA on January 15, 1937, he was the son of the late George S., Sr. and Emma F. (Phillipy) Troutman. A graduate of Marion High School, Berks County, he had been the owner of a dairy farm in Marion Twp. for 40 years, retiring in 2000 and was a member of Tulpehocken UCC, Richland, where he had been a former church council member and served as caretaker of the church cemetery for many years. He was a life member of the Marion Grange; a member of the Appalachian Snowmobile Club, Country Western Dancers of Reading, Marion Senior Citizens, and the Pennsylfawnisch Deitsch Dialect and Kultur Society. He enjoyed hunting, country dancing, snowmobiling, camping and tinkering in his shop. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Debra A. wife of Mark Kieffer of Bethel, Susan E. wife of Robert Lowe of New Freedom, PA, Diane L. wife of Terrance C. Yingling of Bedford, PA; son Scott A. husband of Constance Troutman of Mohrsville, PA; step sons William husband of Lisa Ruth of Medina, Ohio, Ronald husband of Cathie Ruth of Cornwall; grandchildren Ann M. Riegel, Vicki S. Eisenhower, Andrew S. Kieffer, Jason S. Troutman, Eric M. Troutman, Douglas S. Troutman, Macy T. Yingling, Jordan C. Yingling; step grandchildren Thomas G. Ruth, Rebecca J. Ruth, Grace E. Ruth, Adelyn M. Ruth, Jacob N. Ruth; 3 great grandchildren; sisters Grace Kelchner of Myerstown, Julia wife of Harold Layser of Myerstown; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Richard Troutman. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. from Tulpehocken UCC. Viewing Wednesday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown and Thursday 10 a.m. at the church. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for the benefit of the "Walk'in for a Miracle" team c/o Debra A. Kieffer, 5331 Four Point Rd., Bethel, PA 19507 or the "Memorial Fund" of Tulpehocken U.C.C., 961 Tulpehocken Road, Richland, PA 17087.
